Juneau has already developed 40% of its wetlands. Globally, we’ve lost about 30%.
Only about 6% of the surface of the Earth is wetlands. Yet 40% of all plant and animal species rely on them.
Acre for acre, coastal wetlands sequester twice as much carbon as tropical forests, making them crucial for climate mitigation.
